Hi all! Thank you all for the wonderful work you are doing! I need some help, I watched Nicholas and Sheryl on an interview and I thought they said donations could be made for as little as $0.50 or $2.50 and the sites to do this were listed on their website. I am starting an organization called PEACE-PIE and I want to post sites on which people can donate. I want everyone to be able to participate in donating and show how easily it can be done and how, even a small donation, helps! I have looked at all the sites shown on HALFOFTHESKY and cannot seem to find where you can donate anything less than $10.00. Can anyone identify these sites or organizations?
thank you again, Beth at PEACE-PIE -

Almost all the organizations have input fields on their donation pages where you can specify your own amount. See below for a few examples.
The only problem I foresee in donating amounts as low as 50 cents or $2.50 online is that credit/debit card companies typically charge a small fee per transaction. [That's why some restaurants and bars require minimums before they allow you to use a card.] Let's say they charge .25 cents for each transaction. That cost is much easier to absorb if it's $10 than say $1.
That said, it's true that small amounts do add up. I've found that collecting all your change over time can accumulate into big bills in no time. Perhaps you could incorporate an initiative for women everywhere to start keeping their change in a piggy bank, and when it's filled up, donate it to a Half the Sky organization. Call it "Change for Change" or something...
